Review and Swatches: E.L.F. X JKissa To The Rescue Eyeshadow Palette

e.l.f Cosmetics and Jkissa, a beauty YouTuber, recently released a second collaboration/collection.The collection is dog-themed and every photo posted in June 2020 with the hashtag #eyelipsfacepaws, e.l.f Cosmetics will donate a $1 up to $25,000 to Angel City Pit Bulls. The collection included a rainbow eyeshadow palette called To The Rescue (20 USD), an Eyeshadow Topper Duo called Tsuki To My Heart (12 USD), and 6 piece brush set called FUR-EVER Shadow (25 USD). Since I was on the lookout for a rainbow palette, I decided to purchase the To The Rescue Eyeshadow Palette. This rainbow palette includes 18 shades where 12 are matte eyeshadows and 6 are shimmers eyeshadows. The palette retails for 20 USD on Ulta.com.  This palette is cruelty-free and vegan with a shelf-life of 12 Months.

The Packaging

The packaging of the palette is white and black and comes with a huge mirror. The cover is plain white because the palette comes with stickers in which people could decorate and customize a unique palette cover of their own. I definitely love this idea and will be decorating my palette in the future with those stickers.

The Review

This was my first time ever trying e.l.f Cosmetics eyeshadows. I would describe the formula of the To The Rescue Eyeshadow Palette to be dry. The mattes of this palette are sheer but buildable. I liked that they start off sheer because it allows me to build to my desired pigment. If you want to get full opacity, I would suggest packing on the eyeshadow before blending. This palette does have fallout, but that did not bother me since I usually do my eyes before my face makeup. I found that the matte eyeshadow worked better when I used an eye primer instead of a concealer.  I did have some problems blending out the purples in this palette, but when I packed on the shades and blending out the eye shadow, it helped make blending easier. The shimmers were my favorite part of this palette, especially the shade Bailey (my favorite color from this palette). I found that they were all easy to apply and looked beautiful on the lid.Overall, this palette is worth the price of 20USD. It is a great and affordable palette to use for colorful looks. I definitely recommend trying out the palette if you are interested in the color scheme or on the hunt for a rainbow eyeshadow palette. Here are some of the looks, I have created with the To The Rescue Eyeshadow Palette
