Review of the Urban Decay Naked Ultraviolet Palette

The Urban Decay Naked Ultraviolet Palette is not the palette for everyone. To start off, this palette only has 3 matte shades and those 3 shades are very light. I don’t think they would be compatible with people with a deeper skin tone than me. I have a light to light-medium skin tone and the matte lightly show up on my skin tone. The formula of the mattes are very dry but are buildable. They remind me of MAC eyeshadows. This palette is definitely a palette that some might need another palette to create a full look. I know that when I use this palette, I usually use it with another palette that had deeper matte shades to give my eye looks definition. My favorite shade in this palette is hacked. It is a pretty crease shade for me.
The shimmers in this palette are dry as well, but they are stunning. These shimmer/glitters are buildable which I love because sometimes I just want a wash of shimmer. My favorite and most used shimmer is the shades Lucid and V.R.
Another thing I hate about this palette and this is a personal preference, is the long eyeshadow pan.  I hate long pans, because if you use a brush bigger/wider than the pan you might accidentally dip your brush into two different shades. Which has happen to me a few times when using this palette.
The palette comes with a double end brush. It is one of my favorite things about this palette. The brush is very high quality and helps blend out eyeshadow beautiful.
Overall, this palette is only worth it if you like the shimmers/glitter and are okay with using any other palette. I wouldn’t say this palette is a must and honestly, I could have done without it. I don’t really use deep shimmers and this palette major of the shimmers are deep purples. I wish they could add more matte and lighter purple shimmers. Although this palette was marketed as a purple theme palette, it felt very underwhelming and they should of added more purple shades. I felt that the Urban Decay Naked Ultraviolet Palette was an okay palette and I wouldn’t recommend buying this palette at the full price of $49. It is too much for a palette that you will need another palette to use.
What are your thoughts? Have you used this palette before?
